Jess joined NEA in 2018 as an investor focused on technology companies. Jess is a board observer for Arris Composites, Smartcar, Outrider, Tulip, Workera, Drop, New Wave Foods, Embrace and Gen.G, and is also involved in NEA’s investments in Goodleap, Datafold, Forethought, EvidentID, HackerOne, and Automation Anywhere. Prior to joining NEA, Jess spent two years at Morgan Stanley in their Global Technology Group in Menlo Park, covering companies across enterprise software, infrastructure, and consumer internet. At Morgan Stanley, Jess worked on various IPOs, financings, and M&A transactions for companies including Uber, Pivotal Software, Smartsheet, AppDynamics, FireEye, Aquantia, and Lulus, among others. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Jess spent time at Greylock Partners, Uber, and Euclid Analytics.
Jess graduated from UC Berkeley, where she earned dual degrees in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business and Social Welfare. During her academic career, she conducted research around enterprise innovation and workforce impact for Stanford University with Timothy Bresnahan and also conducted research around crowdfunding for MIT with Christian Catalini.
